Bridgeport’s First Homicide for 2022

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: On January 2, 2022 at approximately 10:03 pm, Bridgeport Police responded to 100 Marcel Street on the report of a party shot.  Emergency personnel located a victim lying in the front yard at that location and quickly transported him to Saint Vincent’s Hospital where he later died.   The B.P.D. Detective Bureau has taken charge of the investigation and has since processed the crime scene on Marcel Street.  Detectives are working several strong leads at this time. Bridgeport News: Homicide #21 — Police UPDATE:

BRIDGEPORT—On Thursday December 16, 2021 at 2116 hours, the Bridgeport EmergencyCommunications Center received a call of a party shot in Sammy’s Grocery & Dollar Store at 500 ParkAvenue. When Bridgeport Police officers arrived, they found the victim, Clinton Taylor (DOB: 6/25/98 of273 West Ave, Apt 211), deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Within minutes, Officer Cavalierelocated a suspect about a block away. After a foot pursuit, and with the assistance of other patrolofficers, the suspect was taken into custody. A handgun, believed to be the weapon used to kill Taylor,was recovered nearby. The suspect refused to give his name or any personal information, stating only that he is “Lucifer”. Bridgeport’s Computer Data At Risk Due To Ransomware Attack

City of Bridgeport UPDATE: The City of Bridgeport has been advised by KRONOS of a nationwide cyber hack on their systems.  There is currently no further update on the breach, a date for repair, or restoration. What does this mean? KRONOS is utilized by the BPD as a time management system for daily rosters and overtime.   KRONOS has essentially “locked in” their systems in order to secure and identify the threat, and work through fixing the problem. Bridgeport News: Missing Person’s Body Found After Arrests

Police UPDATE: This afternoon, detectives exhumed the body of a man believed to be Aryndel Castro. The body was buried under five feet of earth in a crawl space under the detached garage of a single-family home located at 1803 Noble Avenue. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy tomorrow and attempt to confirm the identity of the man. The body of a missing 24 year old who disappeared back 2013 was discovered in a home at 1803 Noble Avenue. Yesterday afternoon, Shawn Gibson 24, of Lakeview Ave, Hamden, CT was arrested in connection to the 2013 disappearance of 24-year-old Aryndel Castro. Bridgeport News: 3 Injured In Fire

2021-12-08@9:09pm--#Bridgeport CT-- #ctfire--Firefighters were called to a fire in the 600 block of Hallett Street. The call immediately went to two alarms with reports of close exposure to surround buildings and reports of people jumping from the building. Two people were found lying on the ground outside the building with injuries consistent with a fall. A third person was also injured, possibly a fatality but this has not been confirmed. Police UPDATE: BRIDGEPORT- On Monday December 6, 2021 at 2008hrs Bridgeport Police were patrolling the area of Park Avenue and Olive Street when they came upon a multiple vehicle MVA with one of the vehicles into a structure in the 1300th block of Park Ave. Officers immediately rendered aid to the operators of the vehicle as BFD and AMR were enroute to the scene. Police UPDATE: Early this morning Miguel Rojas (DOB: 4/16/93 of Hallett St) surrendered to police to face charges in connection to Friday night’s homicide of Jalen Parilla. Rojas is charged with Murder, Use of a Firearm in an A,B,C Felony, Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, and Risk of Injury to a Child. His bond was set at $1,000,000. Bridgeport News: Homicide Arrest

#Bridgeport This evening, Bridgeport Police said in a release that "detectives arrested Jaquan Bryant, 32 of Waterbury for fatally shooting Raheem Lynch on November 6, 2021. The evidence uncovered during the investigation shows that Bryant was involved in a physical altercation with a patron at Mystique, a club located at 2458 Main Street, at closing time. Bryant left the club, and shortly thereafter drove past that same patron. Bryant allegedly fired six shots at the man, missing him and striking the victim, who was sitting in a nearby car. The victim was not involved in the altercation and was not the intended target. Bryant is charged with Murder and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. His bond is set at $2,500,000.
