2022-03-22@9:33 #Bridgeport CT Just after 9:30 the homeowner on Lake Avenue heard glass break and thought his house was being broken into. He checked the back porch and called 911 that his porch was on fire and that it extended to the home. He quickly got his 3 children and wife out of the home. When firefighters arrived they saw heavy fire from the left side of the house coming from the attic area. Additional resources were called to the scene. Within an hour the fire was out. Bridgeport News: Seaview Avenue "Incident"On Monday March 7, 2022 at 17:45 hrs. the Bridgeport Emergency Communications (ECC) received several 911 calls regarding a preliminary report of a multi-car MVA that occurred on the Seaview Ave at Exit 29 ramp. Preliminary reports also indicated that shots were fired. While first responders were being dispatched, St. Vincent’s Medical Center ER notified the ECC to explain that one party arrived at in their ER with GSW to the leg, claiming the shooting occurred somewhere on Main St, possibly related, not yet confirmed. Additionally, Bridgeport Hospital notified the ECC indicating two parties arrived at BPT Hospital injured in MVA with possible information. Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport Health Department has been awarded $15,000 from the United States Conference of Mayors 2022 Childhood Obesity Prevention and Environmental Health & Sustainability Grant. The US Conference of Mayors selected Bridgeport with a 3rd place award in the category of “medium cities” to support programs that engage the community and promote childhood obesity prevention, environmental health, and sustainability, or a hybrid of both.The City of Bridgeport will be using these grant funds for the installation of a brand new, state-of-the-art outdoor fitness facility in Bridgeport. Bridgeport Police UPDATE: On January 2, 2022 at approximately 10:03 pm, Bridgeport Police responded to 100 Marcel Street on the report of a party shot. Emergency personnel located a victim lying in the front yard at that location and quickly transported him to Saint Vincent’s Hospital where he later died. The B.P.D. Detective Bureau has taken charge of the investigation and has since processed the crime scene on Marcel Street. Detectives are working several strong leads at this time. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Andre Brown of Bridgeport Connecticut.
