2020-04-02@11:39pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters received a call for a house fire in the 100 block of Harborview Avenue, near Harborview Market. The fire was in the back of the home. Radio reports said the homeowner ran back into the home to retrieve the pets. There were no reported injuries. The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
Police UPDATE: On April 2, 2020 at 2258 hours, police received a Shotspotter activation in the area of 468 Trumbull Avenue reporting multiple gunshots fired in the area. Officers responded to the scene and located a crime scene. A 32-year-old male victim was transported by private vehicle to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and groin. Detectives processed crime scenes at the hospital and on Trumbull Avenue, and are working to establish a motive and leads in the case. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and autopsy. 2020-04-02@11:05pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police received a shot spotter activation of 17 shots fired in the 400 block of Trumbull Avenue. A short time later a gunshot victim was dropped off by a dark-colored sedan with a shot-out window. The person was shot several times in the stomach and groin.
2020-04-02@5:22pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters on the scene on Morehouse Street in the Black Rock section of town for a porch fire that was mostly extinguished by the homeowner. Firefighters are reporting extensions to the ceiling which they are pulling out to ensure the fire is completely out.
