Bridgeport News: Neighbors Rescue Neighbors From Burning Home

2020-03-16@8:10pm--#Bridgeport CT—Firefighters were called to a fire at 316 Linwood Avenue. While on the way to the fire they were told that people were running into the building to rescue people inside the burning multi-family home. I caught up with Richiez Aneury who lives across the street. He said he heard people screaming, so he and his brother grabbed their portable dry chemical fire extinguishers and ran across to help. He said other neighbors also went to knock on doors and help get people out of the burning building. Bridgeport News: City Offices Closing – With Pay

Mayor Ganim announces that on Monday, March 16, 2020, all City of Bridgeport government buildings will be closed and nonessential services will be suspended with offices and buildings closed until further notice. This closure excludes police and fire services, 911 dispatch, as well as sanitation and recycling pick up. This announcement is out of an abundance of caution to minimize social distancing in an effort to protect staff and residents from the contraction of COVID-19.   Rowena White, city spokesperson said this will be treated similarly to a Snow Emergency Day, so it is paid time off.   The Mayor’s office will operate as usual but with minimal staffing and employees telecommuting, working from home. Bridgeport News: Garage Fire

Assistant Bridgeport Fire Chief Michael Caldaroni said that firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire located in rear of 1015 Madison Av. First unit reported smoke showing from the rear. The fire was quickly knocked down. No injuries occurred and no one was inside the garage at the time of fire. The Gas Co was called to respond. 2020-03-15@11:42pm--#Bridgeport CT-- An alert police officer on patrol discovered this dumpster fire on Holland Avenue.  There was some extension to the building but firefighters quick response put the blaze out before it became a real problem.   If it were a big problem our sponsor would have made it Like It Never Even Happened!

“Greene Homes Boyz” Arrests
