Bridgeport New: Fire Strikes Apartment Building

2019-07-14 @ 2:29pm--#Bridgeport CT-- There was a fire on the third floor of a large apartment complex at 50 Monroe Street.  Firefighter's quick response kept the fire contained to the one apartment.  Deputy Fire Chief Ronald Rolfe said that the people in that apartment probably won't be able to return to their apartment and that they are still assessing if everyone else can return to the other apartments.  Animal Control was called for two rescued cats.  There were no reported injuries.

Bridgeport News: 2 Shot In Bridgeport

Police UPDATE: Police confirmed that two people were shot. One in the hip, and the other in the legs. Non life threatening injuries. One firearm recovered but no arrests were made. 2019-07-13 @ 11:29pm--#Bridgeport--Police received a call for a street fight in the 800 block of Kossuth Street (near Arctic Street). Updated reports said there were shots fired. Police were already on Pearl Street for a structure fire and were quickly on the scene and found two people shot. One went to the hospital by private vehicle and the second person was treated and transported by EMS. A firearm was recovered from the scene. The condition of the two victims is not known at this time.

Bridgeport News: Man Shot In The Chest

Bridgeport Police have identity of the victim from the homicide on 7/13/19 is identified as Sean Warren, 17 years old of Bridgeport. On July 12, 2019 at 2311 hours, Bridgeport Police received a report of shots fired and a victim shot in the area of Horace Street and York Street. Responding officers located a 17 year old male who sustained at least one gunshot wound to his chest. This male was transported to Bridgeport Hospital by medics where he died at 0027 hours on July 13, 2019 after exhaustive efforts by ER staff to revive him. Bridgeport News: “Man” Beats Girlfriend The Kills Cat

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: On Friday, July 12th, 2019, at approximately 0045hrs, officers were dispatched to an address on  Spring Street on the report of a domestic violence incident. It was reported by dispatch that the responsible party arrived home intoxicated, assaulted the complainant, and subsequently strangled her cat to death. Upon arrival to Spring St, the responsible suspect was not on scene. The female victim stated that she and her boyfriend engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation approximately at 0035 hours upon confronting her boyfriend about arriving home late and intoxicated. 2019-07-11 @ 9:26pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A juvenile was stabbed multiple times outside the DCF juvenile housing at 148 Mill Hill Avenue.  The knife was found near a utility pole not far from the scene.  Police's quick work allowed them to apprehend the suspect. Water Rescue At Ash Creek

2019-07-11 @ 6:08pmm--#Bridgeport CT-- #Fairfield CT-- The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a swimmer in distress in the South Benson/Ash Creek area. Fairfield Fire Department Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 4, Rescue 1, Fire Boat Marine 228, Fire Boat Marine 217 and Car 3 responded and arrived on scene at approximately 6:12PM. Marine 228, under the command of Lt. Eric McKeon, quickly deployed and began searching for the missing victim.   Assistant Scott Bisson in Car 3 arrived on scene and assumed command of water rescue operations.
