5:40pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A young teen was found on a porch in the 200 block of Wells Street with gunshot powder burns to his hands.  The teen is no talking not only on how it happened but would even give his name to first responders.  He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment.

Bridgeport News: Stratford Avenue To Get Grocery Store/Plaza

Mayor Joe Ganim joined city leaders to announce the development team in a retail development at 1206 Stratford Avenue which would include a grocery store, Optimus Health Care, a pharmacy, restaurant, laundromat, and a hair salon. Mayor Ganim said the proposed grocery store signed up was Gala Foods Supermarket which has two locations in the city.   Demolition of a large area has already taken place. The demolition of the old Newfield will commence soon. Construction of the plaza is expected in the spring of 2019. House of Hope Ribbon-Cutting to Kick Off 8th Annual Food Drive

#Bridgeport CT--St. Vincent’s Health Services and Aquarion Water Company launched their 8th Annual “House of Hope” Food Drive with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Running until November 16, 2018, the House of Hope aims to help reduce hunger throughout the Greater Bridgeport area.   In an effort to fight hunger with healthy foods, the organizers ask that only nutritious, non-perishable, non-expired items be donated. Last year more than seven tons of food were donated and organizers hope to surpass that total this year.   The House of Hope committee is taking a step beyond simply collecting foodstuffs by attempting to educate both recipients and donors alike about healthy food choices.
