10:01pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– The Sunshine Deli at the intersection of Maplewood and Lenox Avenue was robbed at gunpoint by 3 masked men. They fled north on Lenox Avenue. Heavy police presence in the area. Police are checking surveillance video from the store.

On 4/5/2016 at 0630 hours, members of the Bridgeport Police Department Detective Bureau served an arrest warrant on Alfonzo Reid at his residence located at 128 Scofield Avenue Bridgeport, CT. Reid was taken into custody without incident and charged with Sexual Assault 1st Degree. The arrest of Reid is the result of an investigation by this agency regarding the sexual assault of a Sacred Heart University student on 3/30/2016, where Reid is alleged to have taken the 19 year old female victim to his home where he sexually assaulted her.
10:58pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut–Police on patrol discovered a car fire at the M&F Auto Body Shop on North Avenue and called the fire department. Within minutes of the firefighters arrival they quickly had the fire extinguished as with most car fires. You can see that trash was pushed under the fencing to start the blaze. The intersection was closed for a short amount of time but it caused no delays in the area.

(Bridgeport, Conn. – April 5, 2016) – The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced that single game tickets for the 2016 season will go on sale this Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 am. Tickets may be purchased at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard Box Office, by calling 203-210-BLUE, or online at www.bridgeportbluefish.com.
The Bluefish will be holding Open Player Tryouts on Saturday as well, and encourage fans to come purchase their single game tickets and then stick around to watch some potential future Bluefish players try out for the team.
“We are really looking forward to seeing all of our guests here at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard this year,” says Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole. “The opening of our ticket office signals the beginning to a FINtastic season of Bluefish Baseball.”
The Bluefish will once again offer one of the most affordable family entertainment options in Southern Connecticut. Individual ticket prices for the 2016 season are $12 in advance for both Box and Reserved seats. Box seats will be sold for $14 on the day of the game.
The Bluefish Box Office will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. On game days, the Box Office will be open from 9:00 am through the start of the seventh inning on weekdays, and on weekends from 10:00 am through the start of the seventh inning.
Opening Day at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard is Thursday, April 28 at 7:12 pm against the newest Atlantic League team and in-state rivals, the New Britain Bees. Season tickets, group outings, and ticket packages are available by calling 203-210-BLUE or online at www.bridgeportbluefish.com.
1:40pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A driver of a ticketed SUV allegedly struck a Bridgeport Police Parking Enforcement Officer this afternoon on Wheeler Avenue at the intersection of Madison Avenue (next to Micalizzi’s Italian Ice (I can’t wait for them to open!)). The driver of the vehicle was upset at receiving a ticket and allegedly struck the officer in the chest and then in the arm knocking his ticket machine to the ground. The SUV was making it difficult for trucks to pull onto Wheeler Avenue being over two feet fromo the curb. The SUV only ticketed for parking too close to the curb and crosswalk. The SUV was not ticketed for parking over two feet from the curb. The parking enforcement officer was not injured. Police are looking at surveillance cameras from the many businesses in the area.
