Governor’s Residence Participating in State’s Annual Tourism Event

#HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Governor’s Residence will be participating in the state’s 11th annual Connecticut Open House Day and will be open to the public for tours from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Fairfield News: Lumber Yard On Fire Again…….

7:45pm--#Fairfield CT--Firefighters were once again dispatched to 100 Thorpe Street.   The property owners were on scene and would not let me anywhere near the property.  So I visited my news friends Beth and Paul on Ruane Street where I recorded the fire last night.  Smoke was visible and the sound of the firefighter's chainsaws could be heard.   Radio reports verified that 3 lines are in use to fight tonight's fire.

Fairfield News: Massive Fire

Special Thanks to Paul and Beth for their hospitality in letting me record in their backyard to get this amazing footage. At 7:05pm Fairfield's Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting smoke visible rising from the southernmost warehouse on the site of the former Fairfield Lumber. Fairfield Fire Engines 1, 2, 4, 5, Ladders 1, 2 and Car 3 were dispatched, with Lt Jay Swindon on Engine 2 first on scene confirming a working structure fire. Assistant Chief Erik Kalapir arrived on scene shortly and assumed command, calling for Engine 3 and an additional Ladder from Bridgeport. Bridgeport Fire Ladder 11 was dispatched, with Engine 10, Ladder 10, Safety 1 and Battalion 1 added to the assignment by Command. Fairfield…

Fairfield First Selectman On GE’s Threat To Move Out

#Fairfield CT--Video Report---Earlier today General Electric, Fairfield's largest taxpayer threatened to move out if the State of Connecticut moves forward with their plans to raise taxes in the the state.  First Selectman Tetreau told me he believes it is not the company's immediate interest at this time after they just expanded their present facility.   Tetreau believes this is statement of direction but that the state needs to create a business friendly environment.  "The problems we have in the state aren't going to be fixed overnight, I think they want to see us move in the right direction" said Tetreau.

Trains May Be Delayed

UPDATE: Dog is off the tracks and now at Snoop Doggy Dog Salon near Flipside Burger & Bar. Fairfield Police and Firefighters- GET THEM A CONTRACT!

Wednesday, the firefighters and police in Fairfield were put to the test with four major calls that required their know how.  We asked them to see and endure somethings no one should have to see.  Through it all the professionals at the police and fire departments made their town proud, very proud.  But we as a town we have not returned the favor for their valor.  Both departments have been working without a contract.   I'd like to say the town of Fairfield have proven that they are anti-union.  But that isn't necessarily the case.  Every RTM member I spoke to said they would vote to approve any contract set before them.  The apparent person that is against the unions…
