Fairfield News: Teen Shot At Party Dies

On Saturday July 9, 2022 at approximately 10:30pm the Fairfield Police Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls reporting shots fired at the banquet hall to Calvin United Church located on Kings Hwy East near Hibiscus Street. First arriving officers located an unresponsive male victim in the hall and immediately began lifesaving measures. The victim was transported to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center by AMR where he died as a result of his injuries. Soon thereafter, police received notice that a female victim had arrived at the hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the jaw. She is currently listed in stable condition. Fairfield Parks and Rec: In consultation with our meteorologist, based on the current weekend forecast the Town of Fairfield Annual Fireworks have been postponed until Sunday, July 3rd, 2022. Date: Fireworks will take place Sunday, July 3rd at 9:15pm.Limited Parking: Beach Parking lots can be accessed either with a Season Beach Sticker or by purchasing a Daily Pass for $50.00 per vehicle (credit card only). Daily Passes will be limited to the first 300 vehicles at Jennings Beach and 100 vehicles at Penfield Beach. The Fairfield Museum & History Center was recently awarded a generous grant from Connecticut Humanities to support our participation in the CT Summer at the Museum initiative. The program invites Connecticut children ages 18 and under plus one accompanying Connecticut resident adult to visit participating museums free of charge from July 1 through September 5, 2022. Funding for the initiative is provided by the CT General Assembly, with the support of Connecticut Humanities and the Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the federal ARPA. In 2021 alone, the Fairfield Museum welcomed 7,398 visitors. 5,837 of those visitors were from Connecticut and 3,230 of those visitors were 18 years of age or…
