Fairfield News: Water Rescue

2020-04-27@4:03pm--#Fairfield CT--  A child came to a home in the 900 block of Fairfield Beach Road and told the homeowner that her family was on a raft out on Long Island Sound and needed help.  They called 911 and police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.  There were five people in the inflatable raft that the police boat rescued.  There were no injuries.  The five from Brooklyn, New York were brought back to where they had parked and were told not to return to the water in the raft.

Fairfield News: Car Show At The Rest Area

2020-04-25@1:40PM--#Fairfield CT-- #cttraffic-- State police were dispatched to the rest area in Fairfield on I-95 for a large gathering of cars.  Radio dispatch said it looks like they putting on a car show.  We also were informed earlier about a large gathering of dirt bikes and quads gathering a Bass Pro but there hasn't been any real disturbance at this time.  There was, however, a large gathering of cars on Kossuth Street but there were no updates on this.

Fairfield News: Police Investigate Untimely Death

On 04/18/2020 at approximately 10:03am the Fairfield Police Department responded to 736 Riverside Drive to check on the welfare of a resident. While checking the area, officers located a deceased middle-aged female inside the home. Detectives are currently on scene determining if, in fact, a crime occurred. The name of the deceased will be withheld until the next of kin is notified. At this time, it appears that this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the surrounding neighborhood or its residents. Fairfield News: Man With Machete Flees Homeowner With Gun

Police UPDATE: On 04/18/2020 at approximately 3:21AM, a homeowner in the 800 block of Stratfield Road reported that he found an unknown subject in his home after he was awakened by his barking dogs.  It was reported that this subject fled from the home after being confronted by the armed homeowner.  The subject was described by the homeowner as a male wearing dark clothing. The homeowner believes the suspect may be known to him from a previous incident which occurred in another town. It appears that this incident was not a random act, and we believe there is no danger to the public or to residents in the surrounding area. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
