Police Arrest Two Men for Larceny

#Bridgeport, CT – Nov. 12, 2013 – Two men face larceny and burglary charges after an incident on Gurdon Street. Officer Ian Schumaker responded to the area of 90 Gurdon just before 3 a.m. Sunday after a concerned citizen contacted police about a possible burglary in progress. Police were told a Subaru and a Honda Civic pulled up to the area and that three males appeared to be walking between the Civic and the side of 90 Gurdon Street, which is an abandoned house. When police arrived, Sgt. Vincent Ingrassia and Officer Jamie Jarrett detained one man, later identified as Erick Calderon, 26, of Bridgeport, as he walked away from the Civic. Officer Jeffrey Franco spotted a second male who was apprehended while hiding behind a garage after a…

Man Assaults Mechanic

#Bridgeport, CT – Nov. 12, 2013 – A 32-year-old man faces charges after he punched his mother’s auto mechanic in the face over his prices. The incident happened Monday afternoon at a business in the 1500 block of Stratford Avenue. Officer Ilidio Pereira responded to the location and spoke to the victim. The victim stated that the suspect, Deron Brooks, of Bridgeport, began yelling at him about the pricing of the labor for work on his mother’s car. He also began screaming about work that was done on his own car. BRIDGEPORT, CT (November 8, 2013) – In observance of Veterans Day, City Hall and Margaret E. Morton Government Center will be closed on Monday, November 11, and will reopen on Tuesday, November 12.   The City’s Transfer Station is open on Monday from 7 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (closed for lunch fromNoon - 12:45 p.m.).  Trash and recycling pickups will continue as scheduled on Monday.
