Norwalk Marine Officers Rescue Man
On Saturday September 10, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Norwalk Police Marine Unit Sergeant Peter LaPak and Marine Unit Officer Richard Delallo were patrolling in the area of Greens Ledge Lighthouse when they observed a male in water and a sailboat travelling in circles. The male has sustained a head injury and was in obvious distress. As the officers approached, they threw the male a life ring however, he was unable to grab it. The male’s head then began going under the water. Officer Delallo entered the water, securing the now exhausted male and assisting him back to the NPD Marine Unit. A passerby also entered the water and assisted Officer Delallo and Sergeant LaPak with getting the male into the boat. The male was transferred to the Norwalk…
