With new tough gun laws coming to Connecticut it could cost the state gun manufacturing jobs. One gun manufacturer is being courted by over twenty states to relocate their business. WTNH has the video report here:
“My wife had given her away, unbeknownst to me,”said husband/owner William Novotny said. The family had recently moved to a condo from a single-family home. His wife has some health problems and felt the family could no longer properly care for Bella. Novotny said his wife knew he would oppose giving the animal away — so she secretly placed an ad on Craigslist and offered the dog for free. She then concocted the Home Depot story as a cover, he said. Once he found out, he contacted the family who had Bella and said he gave them $750 for the dog’s return. The number of jobs in Connecticut fell by 5,700 in February, according to the monthly jobs report released Thursday, although the state's job level is still in positive territory for the year. Ed Deak, an economist who does forecasts of the Connecticut economy for the New England Economic Partnership, said the big swings in monthly data suggest it's not reliable. But he said the big picture is clear: Connecticut is not adding jobs as quickly as the nation. "We seem to be slogging along somewhere at 40 to 60 percent of the recovery of the U.S.," he said. Former Chief of Police for the town of Fairfield recently changed his LinkedIn status to police officer in the town of Bridgewater Connecticut. I message him and he confirmed it. Bridgewater is a small community of about 1,800 residents according to the 2000 census and is the last dry town in the state. Bridgewater is served by one resident state police officer and two other town police officers. David Peck was the chief in Fairfield from August 2006 to May 2010 when he retired. 12:02am--#Bridgeport CT--There is a very disturbing video on Facebook of a very small child being sexually assaulted by an adult. This video has triggered a large number of calls to police departments in the area. Bridgeport and Stratford Police received many calls. Police said that unless the caller can identify the person, child or area where the video is originating there is nothing they can do other than report it to the FBI. There is no way of identifying if it happened in Connecticut. A viewer told us that her mother called Stratford Police and said they have the link and an investigator is investigating. Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff today issued the following statement on the death of Staples High School graduate Roger W. Muchnick in a U.S. Marine Corps training accident in Nevada: “This is a sad day for Westport where Roger grew up. At Staples, he was well known as a popular football and lacrosse player and was well liked by his friends, teachers, and coaches. “He is the second Staples graduate on active duty with the Marines to die in an accident in little more than three years, and our community once again is in shock “Our hearts go out to the Muchnick family and friends.
