Stratford Police: Wanted Fraud Suspect Don Zemo Surrenders After Public Tips

Stratford, CT — The Stratford Police Department announces that Don Zemo (DOB 08/07/1964), a convicted felon wanted on multiple felony warrants throughout Connecticut, surrendered himself this morning to Detective Jon Policano. Zemo was originally sought by Stratford Police on an outstanding felony arrest warrant charging him with Larceny in the First Degree and Issuing Bad Checks. He is accused of defrauding a Stratford small business of more than $14,000, and additional warrants for similar crimes were held by the Fairfield, Brookfield, and New Canaan Police Departments. Following the department’s public request for assistance, Detective Policano received numerous calls from the community, which ultimately led to direct communication between Zemo and the detective earlier this week. Stratford Police Seek Don Zemo in $14K Small-Business Fraud; Multiple Warrants Statewide

STRATFORD — The Stratford Police Detective Division is seeking Don Zemo, last known to reside in Milford, in connection with an active felony arrest warrant for Larceny in the First Degree and Issuing Bad Checks. Investigators say Zemo, a convicted felon, is accused of defrauding a Stratford-based small business of more than $14,000 and is also wanted for similar crimes in other Connecticut communities. Police report that the Fairfield, Brookfield, and New Canaan Police Departments each hold outstanding warrants for Zemo. (October 28, 2025) — Local and state officials joined business and community leaders Tuesday morning to celebrate the grand opening of Borealis Cannabis by Shangri-La, a new state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation and processing facility located at 305 Hathaway Drive in Stratford. The 40,000-square-foot facility represents an investment of more than $34 million and marks a major milestone in the growth of Connecticut’s cannabis industry. Yearlong Probe Nets Second Arrest in CubeSmart Storage Heist

Norwalk police investigating the July 1, 2024 commercial burglary at CubeSmart on Bouton Street have made an additional arrest tied to multiple broken-into storage units and thefts totaling about $23,000 in property, along with several firearms. Detective Barron led a yearlong investigation with partner agencies, which included the recovery of a stolen .357 revolver in Branford. Following a prior arrest of Tylon Gardner on September 10, 2025, detectives identified Colt Meadows, 22, as another suspect, obtained a warrant through Stamford Superior Court, and took him into custody there on October 14, 2025. Domestic Violence Homicide on Griffen Street; Suspect in Custody, $1M Bond

STRATFORD — On October 20, 2025, at about 7:00 p.m., Stratford Police received a 911 call from a male who said he had just stabbed his girlfriend and intended to kill himself. The caller identified himself as Stanley Mulvey and provided the location as a home on Griffen Street, identifying the victim as Megan McShane. Responding officers found Mulvey lying atop an unresponsive McShane on the kitchen floor; both were covered in blood, and a large, blood-covered kitchen knife was nearby. Mulvey refused commands to move and was physically removed from the residence, then handcuffed and placed in a patrol car, where police say he made several admissions that he had killed McShane. Shots Fired at Penders Practice Field; Nine .45-Caliber Casings Recovered

STRATFORD — On Monday, October 13, 2025, at about 7:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the Penders Practice Field (at Glendale Rd. & Charlton St., directly across from the main field) for a report of shots fired. Detectives recovered nine (.45 caliber) spent shell casings scattered on the practice field. Surveillance video shows two groups of three males meeting on the field; within seconds, one male points a firearm toward the other group and fires nine rounds. No injuries were immediately reported at the scene.
