Stratford-Stefan Thomas age 18 of Stratford was arrested following an altercation at Stratford High School on 02-13-2020. During the incident Thomas refused to leave the school property when directed by school staff and the school resource officer. When confronted by the school officer Thomas attacked the officer at which time he was subdued and taken into custody. Thomas was charged with: Criminal Trespass 1 st, Criminal Mischief 3 rd, Interfering with an Officer 92cts), Assault on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and Threatening. Thomas was held on a $100,000 dollar bond and scheduled to appear in court on 02-27-2020. The officer was treated at a local hospital and released for injuries sustained. The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street will be participating in Fairfield County’s Community Foundation annual “Giving Day” on Thursday, February 27 th . This is a 24-hour online event to “Give Where You Live” and support the work of local non-profits like the local Library. Funds raised on “Giving Day” will be used to refresh the Stratford Library’s Career Center. The Library’s goal is to raise $2000 in order to purchase two new computer tables and an interactive smart board to improve the Center and make it more useful. In 2019 the Library’s three Career Center computers were used for over 1,560 sessions by job searchers and adult students. Librarians taught 25 technology classes in the space. The Library…
2020-02-09@3:30PMish--#Stratford CT-- Police are looking for the suspect and suspect vehicle in the attached photograph. Stratford Police Chief Joseph McNeil said it was a road rage injuries in the Mount Carmel Avenue area. The chief said there were no reported injuries.
Stratford Police Officers apprehended three juveniles in a stolen car. The juveniles, ages 14, 14 and 15 were the subject of an investigation into recent thefts of and from motor vehicles in the north end of Stratford. Two of the juveniles attend Bunnell High School and one attends the Boy’s and Girl’s Village in Milford. The car was stolen from a residence in Stratford on 02-04-2020. The Stratford Library announces that its Children’s Department, currently closed and undergoing major renovation through early April, is open for business in its temporary location in the Library’s Lovell Room. The Lovell Room is located on the Library’s Main Level. According to Library Director Sheri Szymanski, Children’s Department materials and programs will be available in smaller capacities while the renovation takes place. The renovation is the first major redesign since the Children’s Department opened in 1981. State of the art technology resources, flexible programming space for both traditional and STEAM activities, an ADA compliant restroom and nursing station are all included in the new renovation.
