Stratford News: 3 People Ejected In Merritt Crash – 1 Killed

POLICE UPDATE: Police said two vehicles a Mercedes and a Infinity JX35 SUV were traveling southbound collided sending the SUV over guardrail ejecting 3 people.  Jordan A. Soares, 27, of Dayton Road, Bridgeport, was killed in the crash. He was a front passenger and owner of  the SUV.   The report said the driver of the SUV was Wilner Agramonte, 18, of Terrace Circle, Bridgeport, received serious injures. Belnar Agramonte, 20, also of Terrace Circle was a back seat passenger and was also badly injured.

Driver of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 was Nelson Felipe Hernandez, 22, of Woodlawn Avenue Extension, Bridgeport.  He and his two female passengers were not injured in the crash.

The highway was closed for over 8 and a half hours.

 

1:00am (2:00am if you didn’t turn your clocks back) #Stratford CT– There is a bad crash on the Merritt Parkway by the Sikorsky Bridge with 3 reported people ejected from the vehicles.  The Merritt Parkway is being closed at exit 53.

Stratford News: Heroin Arrest

On 11-01- 2017 Anthony Velez age 25 of Bridgeport was arrested in connection with the sales of HEROIN and other illegal narcotics in the Town of Stratford. Following an investigation spanning several months Narcotics Investigators with the assistance from Bridgeport ESU took Velez into custody after serving a search warrant at his home address and two other stash house locations.
Velez was found to be in possession of Heroin, Crack Cocaine, Illegal Prescription Pills and Marijuana. Approximately $15,000 dollars in currency was seized.
Velez was charges with the following;
21a-278(b) Possession with Intent to sell (Heroin)
21a-278(b) Possession with Intent to sell (Crack Cocaine)
21a-277(c) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Drug Factory Situation
21a-278a(b) Possession with Intent to sell within 1500'of School
21a-279a Illegal Possession of Narcotics (Oxycodone Hydrochloride)
21a-279c Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Alprazolam)
21a-108 Illegal Obtaining or Supplying of Drugs
21a-257 Failure to keep Narcotic Drug in Original Container
53-21 Risk of Injury to a Minor
Veles was held on a total of $750,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport
Court on 11-09- 2017.

Stratford News: Child Pornography Arrest

#Stratford CT–On 10-04- 2017 Dylan Quinn age 25 of Garrison New York turned himself in to officers at the Stratford Police Department as the result of a warrant issued for his arrest. The investigation started in May of 2017 when police detectives were notified of possible child pornography activity in this town. Detectives from the Stratford Police Youth Bureau were able to determine that Quinn had contacted a minor in this town and solicited pornographic material.

The investigation and warrant were completed on September 27 th and Quinn surrendered to authorities as a result. He was charged with 53a-90a Use of a Computer to Entice a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity. Quinn was given a court date of 10/13/2017 at 0900 hours at GA-2. Quinn was released on $50,000 dollar bond.

 

Stratford News: Flu Clinic

#Stratford CT– The Stratford Health Department is sponsoring a flu clinic on Monday, October 16th, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the EMS Training Room, 2712 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615. The flu clinic, which will be superhero themed, is open to children, adults, and seniors. With crafts, goody bags, and costumes it’ll make getting the annual vaccine hassle-free!

“The flu virus differs each year”, says Bernice Bova, RN Public Health Nursing Supervisor, adding “getting your annual flu vaccine is the most important way to lower your risk of getting sick and spreading it to your friends and family.”

No appointments are necessary for this superhero-themed clinic. All vaccines will be given on a first come, first served basis. The Stratford Health Department offers the standard flu vaccine for ages 6 months and over, as well as the high dose vaccine for individuals over 65 years of age. Parents or guardians must accompany their children.

Insurances accepted for flu vaccines include Medicare Part B, Anthem BC/BS, Connecticare, Cigna and Aetna. United Healthcare and Oxford are NOT accepted. All others will be charged a $35.00 fee for the standard flu vaccine and $65.00 fee for the high dose vaccine, payable by cash or check. The pneumonia vaccine will also be available and cost $190.00 if not covered by insurance.

Stratford News: Undocumented Pharmacist Arrested

#Stratford CT–On September 21, 2017, The Stratford Police Department Narcotics, Vice & Intelligence Unit concluded a nearly year long narcotics sales investigation into Robert Heyward age 35 of Stratford, CT. Stratford Narcotics Detectives, with the assistance of the Bridgeport Tactical Narcotics Team and the CT State Police Gang Unit executed search and seizure warrants on Stratford and Bridgeport residences. Heyward fled the scene, engaging Officers in a vehicle pursuit. Heyward crashed his vehicle then fled the vehicle on foot where he was taken into custody after a foot pursuit. A search of both the Stratford and Bridgeport residences yielded over 500 grams of powder Cocaine, 50 grams of Crack Cocaine packaged for street sale, a large amount of raw, bulk Heroin, items to process the narcotics for street sale and a large amount of cash.
Heyward, who is currently out on Parole for Narcotics Sales, was arrested by the Stratford Police Department Narcotics Unit and charged with: (4) Counts of Sale of Narcotics, Possession With Intent To Sell Cocaine, Possession With Intent To Sell Heroin, Operating a Drug Factory, Sale of Narcotics Within 1500 Feet Of A Prohibited Place and Interfering With A Search Warrant. Heyward was remanded into custody and is awaiting a court appearance on September 29, 2017.

Stratford News: Armed Robbery

UPDATE: Radio reports say it was a kidnapping/robbery that originated in Bridgeport (no location givien) and ended behind the lot of PCW.

 

11:11pm–#Stratford CT– Police are investigating a robbery at or behind 1742 Barnum Avenue,  PCW Computers.  A shotgun may have been used.
