1:24pm–#cttraffic–#Milford CT–#Stratford CT– Report of a suicidal person attempting to jump off the Moses Wheeler Bridge that crosses Stratford/Milford over the Housatonic River. The person is reported to be on the northbound side. The traffic cameras have been turned off so I cannot tell if the highway has been shutdown. Expect delays.

3:18pm–#Stratford CT– Stratford Police Chief McNeil confirmed that one person was shot in the foot at Woodend and Sedgewick Avenue. The two were on mopeds. Police said one was person was in custody and they were still searching for a second person. At 5pm it sounded like on radio transmissions that the second person was taken into custody but that has not been confirmed.
#Stratford CT–On 06-07- 2017 at approximately six minutes after midnight Tavares Harris age 26 of Florida crashed his SUV into the protective railing on the Devon Bridge. Harris then exited his vehicle and jumped from the bridge. Officers and Firefighters from several towns initiated a search for Harris. The search included marine units, aviation units as well as K-9 civilian volunteers and police and fire dive team. The Housatonic River was searched throughout the day and night but Harris could not be located. The investigation continues.

#STRATFORD, CT – Stratford EMS recognizes it volunteers during National EMS Week.
In their ongoing efforts to recognize, support and sustain the volunteer program at Stratford EMS, the SEMS Administration has applied for and been approved as a “Certifying Organization” for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award Program last year.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is the premier national volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition.
The program has 4 different award levels including the most distinguished – “Lifetime Achievement Award”. The awards are determined by the PVSA program based on volunteer hours measured cumulatively over a 12 month period or lifetime achievement.
In 2016, SEMS volunteers gave over 17000 hours to the Town and SEMS. This equates to almost $325,000.00 savings to SEMS. Michael Loiz, Director of EMS said, “We have one of the strongest volunteer programs in the State. Our volunteers continue to provide a tremendous and valuable service to SEMS and the community. We are very proud of our volunteers”
May 21-27 is National EMS Week. In recognition of this special time set aside for EMS and on behalf of Stratford EMS Administration, The Director of Public Safety, The Mayor and the Town of Stratford, SEMS held it’s second annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony at Town Hall in Council Chambers on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 1800.

The Boys & Girls Village Work to Learn program, which provides employment experiences, life skills training and asset building to 16-20 year old at-risk youth, will

#Stratford CT–Captain Frank Eannotti of the Stratford Police Department said a 27 year old male who was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries. The victims name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. This is the vehicle they are looking for in connection to the shooting/homicide.
