9:10pm--#Bridgeport CT--UPDATE--Bridgeport Police Press Release: Police responded to the area and found Emmanuel Ranger, of Bridgeport, on nearby Iranistan Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks.  He stated he was walking on Fairfield Avenue when he heard gunshots and was struck. He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Neither he nor his friends provided additional details. A man was shot at the intersection of Faifield and Iranistan Avenue.  He was transported to the hospital with superficial injuries and is expect to be okay. Bridgeport Police Arrest Suspect in 2012 Homicide

#Bridgeport, Conn.  (Dec. 16, 2014) – A 53-year-old man was extradited Tuesday from Florida in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in 2012 in the city’s East Side.   Mario Chavez, formerly of Washington Avenue , was detained this month in Miami on a fugitive from justice warrant stemming from the fatal stabbing of  23-year-old Francisco Barbosa-Vega in the 500 block of Arctic Street. According to witnesses,  Barbosa-Vega intervened  in a fight between two individuals on May 27, 2012, at that location and was stabbed in the chest. Lt.
