12:56am--#Fairfield CT--Police have one in custody but still looking for one suspect in the Reef Road, Ruane, Nichols Street area after a brief foot pursuit.  The person they have in custody had a bag full of GPS units.  Norwalk is on the way with a K-9.  Police now say they are actually looking for 5 or 6 more males. UPDATES: 1:22am--2nd person in custody in the park behind the fire station.  1:40am--UPDATE--A stolen vehicle taken from Windsor Road today has been located in the area.  A pellet gun was found in the vehicle, owner of the car notified and confirmed it was stolen. 28 Graduate from Bridgeport Police Academy

Twenty-eight recruits  graduated from the Bridgeport PoliceAcademy tonight.   “Thursday will be a special day,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “We’re welcoming 28 new police officers in five different cities and towns. Seven months ago, they started the academy as strangers and leave ready to start new careers keeping our kids and families safe – and as a family.” Seventeen of the new officers will serve the residents of Bridgeport and our visitors.  One each will serve in Fairfield and Greenwich. Five will serve in Hamden and four will serve in Norwalk. “I am proud of how this class has progressed, and I am confident that all of the recruits will serve their cities and towns exceptionally well as police officers,” said Bridgeport Police Chief Joseph L. 2:26pm--Police were called to Mill Hill School for two middle eastern males in a white Cadillac Escalade who were asked to leave the school grounds but refused.  A short time later, prior to police's arrival they left the school grounds.  They were pulled over by police on the I-95 on ramp near Center Street.  Police are still investigating. CT--On Tuesday, September 30, 2014 the Westport Police Department swore in two new police officers. The ceremony took place in the classroom at police headquarters at 2:45 P.M. The hiring of both officers fills vacancies created by the two retirements since June 2014 and brings the department to full strength. The following individuals were sworn in as Westport Police Officers: Ruta Pratt, age 39, is a 1995 graduate of Naugatuck Valley Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to her hiring by the Westport Police Department, Ms. Pratt was a police officer with the Waterbury Police Department since October 2002, most recently at the rank of Detective. Daniel Paz, age 27, served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, including two  deployments to Iraq, and was…
