Bridgeport News: Suspicious Fire On Dixon Street

Just before 2am Monday morning, a call came in to the Bridgeport Fire Department for a structure fire at 245 Dixon Street. Firefighters on arrival found heavy smoke on the left side of the home. When the call came in to the fire department it was thought that the fire was started by someone that was still on scene. Police were immediately dispatched. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire that was on the first floor. They thoroughly checked to make sure the fire did not extend anywhere else to the home. The fire marshal was called to the scene. There were no reported injuries fighting blaze.

Bridgeport News: Fire on Central Avenue

10:56pm--#Bridgeport CT--Just before 11pm Saturday night firefighters responded to a call of fire at an abandoned house at 1801 Central Avenue. When they arrived they found heavy fire at the roof line and were concerned about the flames extending to the building to the left of it. Firefighters quickly got control of the fire, I was there within ten minutes of the call and all visible flames were out on my arrival. There was concern about a homeless man living in the attic but primary and secondary searches of the home found no one in the building. The fire marshal is on the scene investigating.
