Monday--5:27pm–#Monroe Ct--One day after a fire killed a Monroe man in his Osborn Lane home, another Monroe family has lost their home to fire. But this time everyone made it out safely. The fire erupted shortly before 5pm Monday at 15 High Meadow Rd. The owner reported seeing smoke in the basement and when firefighters arrived at the ranch-style home, they encountered heavy smoke and fire. Firefighters were pulled out of the building to fight the fire defensively once part of the dining room floor collapsed into the basement. A volunteer firefighter narrowly escaped serious injuries by pulling himself out of the hole and exiting through a nearby sliding glass door.
