Video Report--Four people injured in a shooting this afternoon near the intersection of Reservoir and Trumbull avenues. One victim died from his wounds. The other three are believed to have non life threatening injuries. All are males who range in age from their late teens to mid 20s. The incident happened just after 2:30 p.m. Based on preliminary information, the shooting appeared to have happened on Reservoir Avenue across from a shopping plaza. 6:55pm--#Bridgeport CT--A woman hit another woman over the head with a pipe at the corner of East Main and Shelton Street. The suspect fled down Shelton Street.
2:36pm--#Bridgeport CT--4 people shot at 339 Trumbull Avenue. One person shot in the leg another in the buttocks, no details on the others. Suspects are two dark skinned male teens who fled on foot. Police on scene. Injuries do not appear to be life threatening. UPDATE-- One confirmed dead in the shooting.
1:34pm--#Bridgeport CT--Off duty police officer reports hearing shots fired in the area of Connecticut and Wilmont Avenue. Reports say two males in a white Hyundai may be responsible. No reports of anyone or anything being hit.
7:20am--#Derby CT--Firefighters battled an early morning blaze at 146 Park Ave. One woman was sent to the hospital for non life threatening injuries. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
10:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--The fire on the fire escape was put out by a fire extinguisher by a tenant at Charles and Wells (near the Dominoes).
NORWALK CT - 13th Annual CT United Ride -Connecticut's largest annual 9/11 tribute and motorcycle ride kicked off this past Sunday, September 8th, 2013 from Norwalk’s Norden Park. With police on motorcycles leading the way approximately 3000 motorcycles roared off on a 60 mile trek with no worry of traffic lights or stop signs. The motorcycles made the sound of thunder as they headed out, waving American flags and revving their engines through 11 Fairfield county towns. Frederick T Garrity, Jr. ride event coordinator noted this year was the second highest turn out of riders since the ride began in 2001. (Bridgeport, CT – Sep 9, 2013) – A 29-year-old man was shot Sunday and brought to Bridgeport Hospital by an acquaintance. Police responded to the hospital at 5:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting victim. Jerrell Gatewood, of Bridgeport, suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. Based on information gathered at the hospital, police responded to the 200 block of Connecticut Avenue, where the shooting reportedly occurred. A witness told police that Gatewood was working on his vehicle at the location when the gunman approached, argued with the victim and then shot him. The suspect then fled on foot. Detectives Kenneth McKenna and Artur Calvao are investigating the incident. No arrest has been made.
