Bank Robbery/Kidnapping at Fairfield Bank

2:10pm–#Fairfield CT–Shortly after 2pm Monday afternoon police responded to a at TD Bank at 1915 Black Rock Turnpike. A man was kidnapped in Bridgeport brought to Fairfield to withdraw all his cash and clean out his safety deposit box. Police have one man in custody and are search for a light skinned Hisapnic male who fled in light blue Mercedes BL500. Two officer working an extra duty road job a block away were quickly on scene. The victim and employees of the bank were not hurt.

2 Shot In Bridgeport

 

Just after 8:11pm Sunday night police received numerous calls for shots fired on Hurd and Goodsell Street.  A man with a long gun shot inside the gray SUV at Hurd and Goodsell Street .  The SUV fled the scene to St. Vincent’s Hospital where two people inside were shot, one in the head and in very serious condition.  This is breaking news and there isn’t a lot of information as police investigate the crime scene and talk to witnesses.  If we get any updates I will let you know on DoingItLocal.com

UPDATE–Police press release: (Bridgeport, CT — April 22, 2013) — Two people were wounded Sunday evening in a shooting. Officers responded to 207 Hurd Ave. just after 8 p.m. on a report of shots fired. When patrol officers arrived, they learned that two victims had been hit and were being taken by private vehicles to St. Vincent’s.

Police responded to the hospital. At the shooting scene, police located a tan four-door Buick in which the victims had been seated, parked across from 207 Hurd Ave. The vehicle had been struck numerous times by bullets. The victims who arrived at the hospital are: Kenneth Ebanks, 22, of Bridgeport. He was seated in the right rear seat of the vehicle. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm. The second victim is Ashley Llyons, also 22, of Bridgeport. She was seated in the left rear of the vehicle and suffered a gunshot wound to the left hip.

Witnesses stated that an unknown vehicle pulled alongside the parked vehicle containing the victims and shots were fired. Both are reported in stable, but serious condition. Detectives responded and are investigating.

Fire on Reef Road Fairfield Update

#FAIRFIELD, CT, April 21, 2013: At 1:20 PM on Saturday April 21, 2013 the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received multiple calls reporting a house on fire at 382 Reef Road.  Fairfield Fire Engines 1,2,4,5,L1,L2,and Car 3 responded. Lt. Bill Tuttle of Engine 1 arrived first on scene and reported that the left front porch of the two story duplex dwelling was heavily involved in fire.  Lt. Tuttle directed members of Ladder 1 to search the building while and the crew of Engine 1 extinguished the fire.  The tenant and sole occupant was asleep on the third floor when he was alerted by FF. Larry Noga, who helped Tom Obst exit safely from the building.  Engine and Ladder 2, led by Lt. Patrick Barry – conducted a primary search of the adjacent duplex and coordinated ventilation operations.  Reef Road was closed for approximately 45 minutes while firefighters completed extinguishing and checked for extension. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Asst. Chief William Kessler of the Fire Marshal’s Office.  Chief Richard Felner also responded to the scene. Asst. Chief George Gomola was the incident commander.
