NEW GUIDELINES FOR CONNECTICUT’S COVID-19 TRAVEL ADVISORY

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed an executive order revising the guidelines for the travel advisory he enacted earlier this year in Connecticut amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in order to streamline its operations and align with recently modified guidance on the virus from the U.S Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Effective at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, the revised Connecticut COVID-19 Travel Advisory will: Apply to all travelers – both foreign and domestic – entering Connecticut from any location, except for the neighboring states of New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island; andRequire all affected travelers to complete the Connecticut Travel Health Form (available at ct.gov/travelform) and self-quarantine for a period of 10 days or until a negative…

State Bond Commission Approves $3.7 Million for Cherry Street Development

#Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim applauds the action of the Connecticut Bond Commission for approving $3.7 million in bonding for phases III and IV of the Cherry Street Development project.  This funding will finance the investigation, remediation and abatement to support these next two phases of development.   Phases III and IV of this expansion are part of an adaptive re-housing and new-construction commercial development project. “Years ago, I talked about this area being a visual gateway to Bridgeport. $722k Firefighter Grants

Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04) announced that four fire departments in Southwest Connecticut will receive Assistance To Firefighters Grants (AFG) totaling $722,654 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Norwalk News: Burglary Arrest

#Norwalk CT--On December 15, 2020 Lindsey Lyon was arrested for being an accomplice in numerouscommercial burglaries over a two week period in October. Lyon and an accomplice broke intonumerous local business during the overnight hours, causing hundreds of dollars of damage andstealing cash. Bridgeport News: New Fire Marshal and Promotions

#Bridgeport, CT – Chief Thode announces that the Bridgeport Board of Fire Commissioners unanimously approved Alberto Hernandez as appointed Fire Marshal, in addition fourteen officers will be promoted within the Bridgeport Fire Department.  Fire Marshal Alberto Hernandez has served in the Bridgeport Fire Department for over twenty years, most recently in the Fire Marshal's Division for the last nine years.  Hernandez is a State certified Fire Inspector, Arson Investigator, and Hazardous Materials Inspector.   In 2010, Fire Marshal Hernandez completed his college degree in Fire Science and, in 2012 earned a master's degree in Public Administration.
