Tractor Trailer Ban

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that due to the severe winter storm that is anticipated to impact Connecticut beginning tonight, he is implementing a tractor-trailer and tandem trailer travel ban on all limited-access highways in the state beginning 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 and ending at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Neighboring states are implementing similar bans. Fairfield Storm Preps

As you are likely aware, our region is expecting some significant snow tonight into tomorrow. We anticipate 12-18 inches of snow, though the predictions show a broad range of possibilities. The storm is expected to begin around 5 PM tonight at a rate of up to 2 inches per hour. 2020-12-15@11:30pm-- Today, Bridgeport Police hosted an overdue award and promotion ceremony outside police headquarters at 300 Congress Street inside the police memorial. Acting Police Chief Rebeca Garcia said 10 members were promoted to detective and one officer to sergeant. Police also recognized two officers, Sergeant Neary and Officer Escoulin for heroism for being shot at during two separate incidents. Protecting Federal Judges

(Hartford, CT)– Attorney General William Tong today joined a bipartisan group of 51 Attorneys General in a letter urging Congress to pass legislation aimed at protecting the safety of federal judges and their families. Addressed to leaders of both the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, the letter supports passage of the Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act or similar legislation.
