Bridgeport News: Another Overnight Assault

2022-12-10@1:17am--#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police received a call of a man in the 100 block of Terry Place suffering injured after an assault with a weapon (the weapon was not indicated). While police were on the scene the man became combative with EMS and police assisting him. One police officer was struck by the man, identified as as Huntley Jackson age 44 of Bridgeport, was detained on-scene and arrested for CGS 53a-167c Assault of Public Safety, Emergency Medical Personnel, Two (2) Counts CGS 53a-182 Disorderly Conduct, One (1) Count. Bridgeport News: Two Shot

2022-11-26@4:44am--#Bridgeport CT--Two people were shot in the 500 block of East Main Street early this morning. Bridgeport Hospital called the police that they had a gunshot victim come in by private vehicle. Police investigated and found a second victim shot in the kneecap. Special thanks to those who reached out to let us know about this. It was not listed in the Bridgeport Police Twitter account as promised. (HARTFORD, CT) – The Connecticut Office of Policy and Management (OPM) today announced that it has completed a review of public schools and their associated athletic teams regarding their use of Native American tribes, individuals, customs, or traditions as mascots, nicknames, logos, and team names as outlined in Section 63 of June Special Session Public Act 21-2. Following that review, it has been determined that three schools are not in compliance with the statute and the municipalities and are ineligible to receive grant funding provided by the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Fund, including: the Canton High School Warriors;the Killingly High School Redmen and Red Gals; andthe Windsor High School Warriors. (Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong this week joined a coalition of 22 attorneys general in filing a friend of the court brief in Moore v. Harper, a case in which the U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether to adopt the radical “independent state legislature theory” (ISLT) and give state legislators the sole, unchecked authority to make election rules at the expense of voters and other state institutions.
