**State Police —2023 Memorial Day Weekend Traffic Statistics – 05/28/2023**

The Connecticut State Police had 4,504 calls for service, assisted 366 motorists, responded to 246 accidents with 2 involving serious injuries and 3 reported fatalities, made 29 DUI arrests, issued 472 citations for speeding and 186 seatbelt citations. We issued 483 citations for hazardous moving violations (to include: unsafe lane change, following too closely, move over, etc). (Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong today sued Michael D. Lansky, LLC, which does business under the name Avid Telecom, its owner Michael Lansky, and its vice president Stacey S. Reeves, for allegedly initiating and facilitating billions of illegal robocalls to millions of people and violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, and other federal and state telemarketing and consumer laws. Avid Telecom sent or transmitted more than 7.5 billion calls to telephone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry. #Fairfield CT--On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at approximately 09:18am, the Fairfield County Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of 2150 Post Rd in Fairfield. Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined that a surveyor, who was assigned to perform work in the area, was struck by a vehicle in the driveway of the business. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 19-year-old female who remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The victim, identified as a 59-year-old male from Colchester, CT was taken to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center by AMR Ambulance and was later pronounced deceased. To respect the privacy of…

Trumbull News: SUSPECT SCARED OFF BY RESIDENT DURING EARLY MORNING BURGLARY

#Trumbull CT-- A Trumbull resident scared off a burglar that entered into their residence during the early morning hours of Saturday, April 29. At about 5:00 a.m., Trumbull Police responded to a report of a residential burglary on Haverhill Road where an unknown individual had entered a home and then ran off after being confronted by the resident. The resident was alerted to someone walking around inside of their home, and when they confronted the suspect the unknown individual ran out of the house and down the road. Initial responding officers checked the area, but were unable to locate any persons, or vehicles, related to this incident. No injuries were reported.
