Police UPDATE: Yesterday, 10/23/18, at approximately 4:30 PM, police received a report of a male in a vehicle, exposing himself in plain view of a juvenile passerby, possibly intentionally. The vehicle was reported to have pulled over in the area of Post Rd. and Beach Rd.  The suspicious male was described as a white male in his thirties, wearing a white sweater. The vehicle was described as a black, older model, two door, possible Ford Mustang.  Please take note of the description and remain vigilant in observing and reporting any suspicious persons, vehicles, or behaviors to the police at 203‐254‐4800. Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim today welcomed Dennis, the Explosive Detective Canine (EDC), to the Bridgeport Police Department. The 2-year-old, Belgian Malinois joined the Bridgeport K9 Unit thanks to a donation from Sonitrol Verified Security Systems in memory of its founder, Dennis F. Hickey. Hickey was a proud member of the Bridgeport business community for five decades. He founded Sonitrol Security Systems with his wife, Joan Hickey in 1973. #Stratford CT-- Here is a police press release regarding the shooting in Stratford we were first to report: Davonte Whitehurst age 19 of Bridgeport was arrested in Stratford for several charges stemming from an argument at 445 Wiklund Avenue. At approximately 1045pm on October 20th Officers responded to a report of an assault and shots fired on Wiklund Avenue. The caller stated that someone had been shot at the residence.   The investigation determined that Whitehurst had shot a male victim in the leg after a brief verbal argument. The victim is the ex-boyfriend of the girl that Whitehurst was visiting. The victim showed up at the residence, uninvited and possibly started the confrontation. Whitehurst fled the scene on foot…
