Bridgeport News: Attempted Bank Robbery In Black Rock

11:54am–#Bridgeport CT– Police responded to a panic teller alarm at the People’s Bank inside the Stop and Shop at 2145 Fairfield Avenue.  According to radio reports the suspect may have attempted the robbery with a note but did not follow through with the robbery.  He fled south on Fairfield Avenue towards the post office.  He was wearing a winter jacket with plastic bags on his feet.

Fairfield News: Tonight’s Gas Station Robbery

Fairfield Police UPDATE: The Fairfield Police Department is seeking information following a robbery of the Mobil Gas Station located at 1271 Stratfield Rd. At approximately 08:52pm on 04/01/18, the suspect (pictured below), a taller, stocky, white male wearing a full grey ski mask, grey pants, brown boots, a black hoodie carrying a knife in his right hand entered the store through the front door. The male then ordered the clerk behind the cash register to open the cash drawer. The suspect fled the store after obtaining an undetermined amount of cash from the register. The suspect entered the passenger side of a light gray Chevy Silverado pick-up truck bearing an unknown Connecticut registration plate. The truck appeared to have a dark, possibly black, ladder rack and tool style box in the bed of the truck. The Chevy Silverado appeared to be a mid 90’s model with the Chevy symbol in the middle of the tailgate. FPD Officer’s pursued a vehicle matching the description on 04/01/18 which was not apprehended and was last seen on Hawley Ave headed toward Main St in Bridgeport. 9:11pm–#Fairfield CT– Tonight’s gas station robbery was once again at the Stratfield Mobil at 1271 Stratfield Road.   The station was robbed on March 26th.  Star Fuels at Jennings and Black Rock Turnpike was robbed on March 25th and on February 11th.  Police said the suspect, a male displayed a knife and matched the previous robber’s description.

Monroe Firefighters Battle House Fire

#Monroe CT–Monroe Firefighters Battle House Fire At approximately 5:30pm on Thursday March 29, volunteer firefighters from the Monroe, Stevenson, and Stepney fire departments responded to a reported house fire on Cold Spring Rd. First arriving firefighters found smoke coming from all sides of the house and an active fire in the family room area. Crews made an aggressive interior attack to extinguish the blaze before it could extend into other areas of the house. There are no fire hydrants in the immediate area, which meant firefighters had to use tanker trucks as a water source. Four engines, two ladder trucks, and four tanker trucks responded including two units from the White Hills Fire Dept. in Shelton. Other firefighters from Trumbull and Shelton covered the empty fire stations in Monroe. No one was home when the fire broke out and no firefighters were injured. The interior of the house sustained heavy smoke and heat damage and is uninhabitable. The residents have made alternative housing arrangements. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Fairfield Police UPDATE: On 03/31/2018 at approximately 11:59pm Fairfield Police received a 911 call from Nutmeg Bowl, 802 Villa Avenue. Officers determined that a verbal argument between Jose Maldonado and another individual occurred inside the bowling alley. The men made threats to each other before going outside to the parking lot. It was determined that in the parking lot one man may have attempted to strike the other with his car and in the process, Jose Maldonado fired a pistol at the car. No one was injured during the incident. Officers located a bullet hole in the rear driver side door of the vehicle involved, in addition to a spent shell casing matching a pistol that was located in a vehicle of one of the subjects involved. Jose Maldonado (DOB 2/5/92) of 126 James Street, Bridgeport, CT., was arrested for Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree and Unlawful Discharge of a irearmf after he fired a gun at an occupied motor vehicle in the parking lot of Nutmeg Bowl. Jose Maldonado was held on $15,000 bond and has to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on 04/12/2018.

 

 

12:02am–#Fairfield CT– A pedestrian was hit in the parking lot of Nutmeg Bowl.  The striking vehicle remained on the scene, a bullet hole was located in the back of his car according to radio reports.  The victim was grabbing the side of his leg, was conscious and alert.
