Fairfield Police UPDATE: The Fairfield Police Department is seeking information following a robbery of the Mobil Gas Station located at 1271 Stratfield Rd. At approximately 08:52pm on 04/01/18, the suspect (pictured below), a taller, stocky, white male wearing a full grey ski mask, grey pants, brown boots, a black hoodie carrying a knife in his right hand entered the store through the front door. #Monroe CT--Monroe Firefighters Battle House Fire At approximately 5:30pm on Thursday March 29, volunteer firefighters from the Monroe, Stevenson, and Stepney fire departments responded to a reported house fire on Cold Spring Rd. First arriving firefighters found smoke coming from all sides of the house and an active fire in the family room area. Crews made an aggressive interior attack to extinguish the blaze before it could extend into other areas of the house. There are no fire hydrants in the immediate area, which meant firefighters had to use tanker trucks as a water source. Officers determined that a verbal argument between Jose Maldonado and another individual occurred inside the bowling alley. The men made threats to each other before going outside to the parking lot. It was determined that in the parking lot one man may have attempted to strike the other with his car and in the process, Jose Maldonado fired a pistol at the car.
