State Police K-9 Gets Protective Vest

Connecticut State Police K-9 Nash has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K-9 Nash’s vest was embroidered with the sentiment “In honor of Kim Carino.” Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and NIJ certified. CTDOT Receives $11.4 Million Federal Grant to Replace Diesel Buses with Efficient Battery Electric Buses

(Newington, Conn.) – The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced it received a $11.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to fund 22 new battery electric public transportation buses. The state-of-the-art buses will replace diesel-operated buses.  “Residents deserve clean air and clean transportation.
