Ansonia News: Person Shot
On January 1, 2024 at about 1:20 A.M. the Ansonia Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a person shot near the intersection of East Main Street and Tremont Street. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle off the road on the sidewalk with a male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, he was shot at least once in the lower body. The male was transported to a local hospital where he is in stable condition. The initial investigation determined the shooting took place on South Cliff Street near Cottage Avenue and the male then drove to East Main Street before driving off the road onto the sidewalk. The investigation is ongoing and the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.

Ansonia News: Homicide Arrest
#Ansonia CT– On December 12, 2023, Sahvone Valentine, age 20, of Hartford was arrested for his involvement in the homicide of Abdul-Jalil Humphrey on July 14, 2023 on Hodge Avenue in Ansonia. Valentine was charged with Felony Murder, Murder, Robbery First Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery First Degree, Criminal Possession of Firearm and Theft of Firearm.
The arrest of Sahvon Valentine was the result of a multi-agency investigation where a second suspect, Jada Artis, age 17 of Ansonia, was arrested on November 3, 2023. Artis was charged with Felony Murder, Robbery First Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery First Degree, and Hindering Prosecution.

Bridgeport-Derby News: Attempted Street Takeover
2023-12-09@12:55am–#Bridgeport CT– State police and officers from surrounding towns were towns were called to Boston Avenue near William Street for a large crowd of cars and people. The state police said people were shooting off flares and jumping on police cars. When I arrived after my 10-minute travel time, the area was clear except for the remaining police cars. There is now a report of a large number of street racers in Derby on Pershing Drive with people shooting fireworks out of their car. One racer aimed his car at a Derby police car.

Man Dies In Fiery Crash
In Shelton, Connecticut, a fatal accident occurred on Saturday morning when a driver crashed into a tree off Route 8 North around 3:41 a.m. The incident, near Exit 14, involved a Nissan Rouge. The vehicle veered off the road, colliding with a tree, and the impact caused it to catch fire. Tragically, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. As of now, the identity of the driver is unknown to state police, and the next of kin has not been notified.
Shelton News: Downtown Robbery
Shelton CT– On 11/27/2023, Jalen Bolton and Ashan Langston were arrested by the Shelton Police Department in connection with a robbery that took place in downtown Shelton. The charges against them include Robbery 1st Degree, Larceny 3rd Degree, and Conspiracy. Additionally, Jalen Bolton faces a charge of possession of narcotics with intent to sell after crack cocaine was found in his possession.
The incident leading to their arrest occurred around 5:30 PM in the Municipal Parking lot at 415 Howe Ave. The police were initially dispatched to a fight at the location, but the individuals involved had fled by the time officers arrived. Later, the victim of the robbery reported to the Shelton Police Department, stating that he had been robbed at gunpoint in downtown Shelton. Despite being attacked by three suspects, the victim managed to fight them off and obtain the license plate number of the vehicle they were using.
The vehicle information was shared with other law enforcement agencies, leading the Bridgeport Police Department Auto Theft Task Force to locate the vehicle in Bridgeport. The vehicle was stopped, and its occupants, identified as Langston and Bolton, were apprehended. The victim positively identified them as two of the individuals involved in the robbery.
Both Bolton and Langston were held on a $100,000 bond and were scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on 11/28/2023. The investigation is still ongoing, with additional arrests expected.
