Ansonia News: Homicide Arrest, 2022, the Ansonia Police Department arrested Andrew Spino, age 34, for his involvement in the 2011 homicide of Isaia Hernandez in the parking lot of the Xtra Mart on Wakelee Avenue in Ansonia. Spino was extradited from Hawaii, where he was in jail on unrelated charges, back to Connecticut with the assistance of the United States Marshal Service. Spino’s arrest is the third arrest in the case, Elijah Stanford and Luis Marquez were both arrested in March and May of 2021. #Ansonia CT--On August 28, 2022 at about 7:30 P.M., the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of a disturbance in a third-floor apartment on Elm Street. The first officer on scene met with the complainant, who was holding her nine-month-old daughter, outside of the apartment. She was visibly upset, and the male suspect was yelling from inside the apartment. Once the officer determined the suspect was the only person in the apartment, he took the complainant and infant to a safe area away from the house while other officers secured the perimeter. #Ansonia CT-- On August 27, 2022, at about 5:15 P.M. the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of an abduction of a female and her sixth-month-old daughter on High Street. The first officers on the scene met the complaint who reported her sister, Galylea Perez, age 22, and Galylea’s six-month-old daughter Eliana Perez was forced into a car by Joshua Lopez, age 23, the father of Eliana. Joshua was driving a four-door silver Honda Accord with Massachusetts registration 2NCT89. The complainant reported Joshua implied he had a gun but no weapon was displayed.
