Police UPDATE: A 16 year old child was stabbed in the rear(buttocks), in the area of Lexington/ Harral Ave in a apparent robbery attempt. THe male victim is alert and was able to walk over to the ambulance per responding units on scene. Wound seems to be non-life threatening at this time. Police are investigating. The man was stabbed near the white car seen in the photo.

POLICE UPDATE: The victim was identified as 33-year-old Geovanny Tapia-Zuniga (DOB: 10/03/1985) of Bridgeport, CT. After Geovanny was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, resuscitation efforts continued until 8:09pm , at which time St. Vincents medical staff pronounced Geovanny dead. Witness accounts stated that Geovanny was swimming on the west side of the beach just beyond the swim ropes. Another witness saw Geovanny in distress in the water, then submerged. This investigation is still active pending cause and manner of death from The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Trumbull Police UPDATE: A 64 year old man jumped off of the Daniels Farm Rd. Bridge, at the Route 25 overpass in Trumbull, late Sunday evening. At approximately 8:20 p.m., Trumbull Police received several 911 calls reporting a man sitting on the fence on the overpass. As officer’s arrived, bystanders were seen speaking with the man as he sat on the fence that spans over the highway. Shortly after police arrived, the man jumped off the overpass onto the roadway of Route 25 southbound. Officers immediately responded to render medical aid, and found the victim conscious and alert, but suffering serious injuries from the fall. HARTFORD, CT– Governor Ned Lamont is reminding consumers in Connecticut that the state’s sales tax-free week begins Sunday, August 18 and runs through Saturday, August 24, 2019. During this one-week sales tax holiday, retail purchases of most clothing and footwear items priced under $100 are exempt from the sales and use tax. This exemption applies to each eligible item under $100, regardless of how many of those items are sold to a customer on the same invoice. Sales tax free week was included as part of the biennial budget that was supported by House and Senate Democrats and signed into law this summer by Governor Lamont. 2019-08-18 @ 2:06am--#Bridgeport CT-- Two people were shot just after 2am. The first victim was shot in Went Park on the Wordin Avenue side of the park. A short time later another person came to Bridgeport Hospital but it is not known at this time if is connected to the Went Park shooting.
