Westport News: Career Coach Returns

#Westport, CT - Director of Human Services Elaine Daignault announces the return of the American Job Center Southwest’s (formerly known as CTWorks) Career Coach at Westport Town Hall.  On Thursday, November 8, 2018 the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft Excel 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.  The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with ten wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.  The mobile unit operates on a monthly schedule of visits to various community locations and is accessible to people with disabilities. FAIRFIELD, Connecticut (October__, 2018) – It’s that time of the year for the annual health insurance open enrollment for private insurances, Medicaid and Medicare. Medicare’s open enrollment runs from October 15, 2018 – December 7, 2018, while The CT Health Exchange/Marketplace General open enrollment for the for the 2019 year runs from November 1, 2018 – December 15, 2018. Bridgeport News: 4 Detained In Stolen Car Wanted In Shooting–Firearm Recovered

12:00PMish-- #Bridgeport CT-- An alert Bridgeport Police Patrol Officer recognized a car wanted in a shooting at Trumbull Gardens earlier.  He was able to pull the car over on Old Town Road prior to the Route 8 entrance.  He held four masked men at gunpoint until backup arrived including mutual aid from Trumbull.  The car was confirmed stolen and a firearm was recovered.  The four were arrested without incident.

Bridgeport News: House Fire

4:00PMish--#Bridgeport CT-- This is what firefighters rolled up to in the 900 block of Lindley Street at Hunting Street.  Bridgeport Police was first on the scene and reported to the fire department that everyone was safely out of the home.  A primary and secondary search by the firefighters confirmed that.  Within 15 minutes of arrival, firefighters had the bulk of the fire out.  There were no reported injuries.  The fire marshal was called in to investigate the cause of the fire.  Special thanks to Allen Jelliffe for this photo!
