9:44am #Westport CT--The Westport Fire Department responded to a report of a tree worker who had fallen from the bucket of a company’s vehicle. The fire department responded with a Rescue truck, Ladder truck, Fire engine, and the Shift Commander. Additionally, the Westport Police Department and Westport EMS responded. Arriving units found a worker who had fallen from the bucket onto the roof of his truck. The patient sustained injuries from the fall and was treated on-scene by the three responding agencies. The patient was placed in a “stokes basket” and removed from the top of the truck. Westport EMS transported the patient to Norwalk Hospital. The condition of the patient is not known at this time. Westport, CT - Town Clerk Patricia Strauss announced today that the Town Clerk’s office will be open for absentee voting this Saturday, November 3rdfrom 9 a.m. to 12 noon. These special office hours are scheduled to accommodate voters applying for an ABSENTEE BALLOT to vote in the STATE ELECTION to be held November 6, 2018. #Bridgeport CT--Today, Mayor Ganim joined Bridgeport Fire Chief Thode and family members to name Bridgeport Firefighter of the Year for the first time in five years. Firefighters who have displayed courageous acts within the Bridgeport community were honored with a Medal of Valor, Gold Star, and Leadership Award. The ceremony was held at Fairchild Wheeler School at 840 Old Town Road. The awards program is designed to pay tribute to the brave and gallant firefighters for their many acts of bravery and compassion to the residents and visitors of Bridgeport.

Fairfield News: Chief Signs Off For Last Time
#Fairfield CT-- Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara signed off the radio for the last time Friday afternoon outside the police headquarters at 100 Reef Road. Approximately 4:50pm the chief entered his police car and gave his sign off remarks. MacNamara began his career as a patrol officer January 1988. He was promoted to sergeant in 1998, lieutenant in 2001 and captain in 2006. He served as detective and detective sergeant. He oversaw the Emergency Response Team, Hostage Negotiation Team, Training Unit, Internal Affairs, Accreditation, and Public Information. In 2007 he successfully negotiated the release of 27 students and a professor that was held hostage in 2002. MacNamara graduated from the FBI Nation Academy in 2004.
