BRIDGEPORT, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim today announced that the city and his administration are anticipating that the Governor’s Interim Budget Proposal will fall short up to $27 million dollars in municipal funds for the City of Bridgeport. In wake of the uncertainty of financial funding from the state, the city will proceed cautiously with expenditures until the State budget is resolved. Connecticut State Troopers are patrolling highways and roads in Connecticut over this 2017 Independence Day weekend. During this enforcement period, Troopers are utilizing both traditional and non-traditional patrol cars. The enforcement period started at 12:01 a.m. 06/30/17 and will run through 11:59 p.m. on 07/04/17. Troopers are focusing on drunken driving violations, aggressive drivers, distracted drivers, and speeding. Sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols are also in place for the entire weekend.
