Bridgeport News: Fire At Black Rock Printing
9:27pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to a dumpster fire at the Black Rock Print Shop at 3442 Fairfield Avenue in the Black Rock section of town. When firefighters arrived they found the dumpster was close to the building and the fire had extended to the building. Firefighters immediately called for more personnel and equipment. The fire had extended into the ceiling making access difficult. Multiple witness told me they heard fireworks just before the fire. The fire marshal was called to investigate. A family that lived in an apartment above the print shop safely escaped and will more than likely need the Red Cross to assist them in overnight housing. Bridgeport News: Police Investigate 14th Homicide
#Bridgeport CT-- Around 3pm Bridgeport Police were called to a report of man shot behind an apartment building on Stratford Avenue. Police have identified the victim as Chaz Rogers, age 37. He was shot several times including one to the head. He was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital. Police have no suspects at this time. Bridgeport News: Drowning Victim Recovered
At approximately 0927 hours on Saturday, 7-1-17, Bridgeport Police responded to the Ferry Access Road on the report of a body in the water. Within minutes of receiving this call the victim was recovered by on-duty Officers assigned to the Bridgeport Police Harbor Unit. Bridgeport Fire Department also provided support and assistance onsite with recovery. The deceased victim recovered at the end of the public safety dock. The victim is described as an Asian Male. No further ID available at this time. AwaitingMedical Examiner report to determine / confirm cause of death. BPD Detectives Bureau personnel are investigating - this is an active investigation.
