On 05/24/2017 Detectives of the Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit were conducting surveillance in the area of Bruce Ave when we observed a Nissan Maxima that had committed several MV violations. The Nissan was occupied (6) times. The area of Bruce Ave is of concern to Detectives due to recent robberies, car thefts as well as a recent shooting. Detectives conducted a MV stop on the Maxima and upon further investigation, located several grams of marijuana as well as a loaded .380 semi automatic handgun and ski mask. Middletown, CT. (May 30, 2017): Connecticut State Troopers were patrolling highways and roads in Connecticut over this 2017 Memorial Day weekend. During this enforcement period Troopers utilized both traditional and non-traditional patrol cars. The enforcement period started at 12:01 a.m. 5/26/17 and ran through 11:59 p.m. on 5/29/17. Troopers focused on drunken driving violations, aggressive drivers, distracted drivers and speeding. Sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols were also in place over the entire weekend. On 05-29- 2017 Brandyn Ford age 24 of Stratford was arrested in connection with the shooting death of Andre Pettway. Ford was arrested after members of the Stratford Police Department Special Response Team served a warrant at his residence. The warrant and arrest are the result of an ongoing investigation into the homicide by the Stratford Police Detective and Patrol Divisions. Ford was unable to post a 1.5 million dollar bond and has been brought to court this morning. 11:11pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A man was robbed by three males of his cellphone at Carlton and Sylvan. The victim located the car they fled in about a half hour later near Home Depot. Police pulled the car over near the Citgo station on Reservoir Avenue. They have on man in custody. UPDATE: The dog that was shot was the neighbor's not the victim's . I'm told the dog is in surgery and should survive if there are no complications. Police Update: At approximately 1am this morning, (5/29/17) Officers received several calls of shot fired in area of 91 Federal St. Officers found a male victim, and a dog who had been shot. Medics were called and the male victim was taken to hospital. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.
