Stratford News: Sexual Assault
On 01-20- 2017 Maher Mahairi, 52, of Fairfield, manager of the Honeyspot Road Dunkin Donuts, was charged Friday with fourth-degree sexual assault. A 19-year- old female employee reported to officers that Mahairi began making sexual comments towards her.
The complainant alleges that Mahairi then grabbed her from behind. Police said another employee told them he heard the young woman scream and she told him Mahairi had grabbed her behind. Mahairi denied grabbing the woman and police said when they later checked the video surveillance system there was a gap in the video for the time the woman claimed she was assaulted.
He was released after posting $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on 01-27- 2017.

Ansonia News: Electrical Fire
11:20pm–#Ansonia Connecticut– Firefighters are on scene at 114 North Cliff Street for a possible electrical fire in a bedroom. The fire is reported out but there is strong smell of burning.

10:18pm–#Westport Connecticut– Firefighters are on Baker Avenue with a kitchen fire. Homeowner used a dry chemical extinguisher to help put it out. House has a heave smoke condition according to scanner reports.

Westport News: Recalled Range Top Explodes
#Westport Connecticut–This morning the Westport Fire Department responded to a reported stove fire out along with an explosion. Upon arrival, fire personnel found that the resident had attempted to turn on the propane supplied kitchen range-top and immediately a small gas explosion occurred beneath the unit. This explosion was likely the result of a failure or leak in the unit. Quick action of the resident to shut off the burner control prevented further damage, luckily no injuries occurred. Range-top parts and cabinetry had been strewn about the kitchen.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission was notified of the incident by the Fire Marshal’s Office, who found the gas range-top had been recalled in 2011. Six other reports involving explosions have been reported to the manufacturer. Bridgeport News: Smoke Inhalation After Food Burning On The Stove
3:27pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– One person is being treated for smoke inhalation after a food burning on the stove incident at 285 Colorado Avenue according to scanner reports.

Stratford News: Burglary Suspect Collared
Nicholas Bruner, 31, of Eureka Avenue, was charged with third-degree burglary andsecond-degree criminal 
Officers responded to a burglar alarm at The Pet Hospital on Linden Avenue and found a rear window broken and there was blood on the window frame. Responding Officers found a trail of blood on the floor along with the set of keys and cell phone. The cell phone and keys were traced back to Bruner. Bruner was taken into custody for the incident and released on a $10,000 bond. Bruner is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on 02-01- 2017.
