Westport News: Identity Theft/Forgery Arrest

On October 12, 2016, a Westport PD Detective was in the area of Post Rd E and Bulkley Ave investigating an unrelated incident when he noticed a silver vehicle bearing out of state plates. The detective watched the vehicle and its occupants from a distance and observed the passengers exit the vehicle and walk one direction while the vehicle began to drive away in another direction. This heightened the suspicion and other units responded to the area. All three occupants were eventually stopped and an investigation was initiated. All three parties had different stories as to their purpose in Westport that we could not corroborate. Through the investigation, a total of eight (14) checks totaling over $74,000.00 was seized from the vehicle and from the occupants. All of the checks were either stolen and/or fraudulent. The following suspects were arrested:

Alphonso D. Stewart (DOB: 01/08/85) of 225 Division Ave Apt 2G Brooklyn, NY

Maliki Cottrell (DOB: 07/25/88) of 11 Van Buren St #2 Yonkers, NY

Rashon Perkins (DOB: 03/11/89) of 18 Sedgrics Ave Bronx, NY

and charged with the following crimes:

Forgery 3 rd (14cts)

Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 1 st

ID Theft 1 st

Additonally, Maliki Cottrell was charged with ID theft 3 rd and Interfering with an Officer for additional fake ID’s in his possession. They are being held on $50,000 each at Westport PD.

Bridgeport News: 2 Shot On Hudson Street

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: At approximately 2017 hours last night, PO Smith was on patrol and reported shots fired in the area of Capitol Avenue/ Hudson Street. PO Smith observed a Nissan Pathfinder fleeing the scene and attempted to stop this vehicle. The operator of the vehicle refused to stop for the officer and bailed out of the moving vehicle on Main Street near Salem Street. The vehicle continued to roll, unoccupied for several hundred feet and came to rest along the curb.
 
The driver eluded capture. Two gunshot victims, a man and a woman, were located in front of 60 Hudson Street. The male victim sustained a serious gunshot wound to his left leg and a graze wound to his right leg. He underwent surgery this morning and is expected to survive. The second (female) victim sustained a gunshot wound to her buttocks and left knee and is expected to recover. According to both victims, they were inside their home at 60 Hudson Street and there was a group outside making noise. The male asked the group to keep the noise down and at some point ended up outside. The woman also heard the commotion and went outside and at some point soon after, both were shot.

 

2:16am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– 2 people, a man and a woman were shot at Hudson Street (near Capital Avenue). It is believed they were shot on Main Street near the hospital. The suspect abandoned his car and fled on foot down Salem Street. It is believed the victims ran to Hudson Street where they banged on a door at one of the homes. One was shot in the leg and the other in the buttocks. Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The suspect is still at large but police have a lot of clues they are working on.

 

2:16am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– 2 personas, un hombre y una mujer fueron disparados en la calle Hudson ( cerca de avenida Capital ). Se cree que fueron disparados en Main street cerca del hospital. Bridgeport News: Person Shot

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: On October 16, 2016 at approximately 0148 hours, a shooting incident occurred at 1725 Barnum Avenue.  A male victim was shot multiple times in the right arm, causing substantial injury and blood loss. He was transported by private vehicle to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive and underwent surgery this morning.  Witnesses state that an unknown light skin male wearing a black jacket approached the victim and shot at him multiple times and then casually walked away and may have left the area in a white colored Honda.

 

1:52am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A shooting outside of Barnum and Bishop Avenue.  The victim ran inside the Avenue Cafe then left in a private vehicle to Bridgeport Hospital.  The victim suffered a gunshot wound that is not thought to be life threatening.  Police located a car with a bullet hole and blood on it up the street.

Bridgeport News: 2 Cops Injured After Being Rear Ended In Crash

11:53pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Two Bridgeport Police Officers were injured when struck from behind at the intersection of East Main and Arctic Street. Both officers and the driver were tranported to the hospital. Both officer appeared to be in pain. The intersection has been closed while police investigate.
