State Troopers Participate in Chariots of Hope Wheelchair Collection

Chariots of Hope is a Connecticut-based, nonprofit organization that collects used wheelchairs and then refurbishes and distributes them to people in need around the world. Efforts are underway to raise public awareness about the need for this service and to encourage people who own wheelchairs that are no longer in use to donate them to this worthy cause. There are nearly 20 million children and adults around the world who could make use of the wheelchairs that now sit idle in people’s attics and basements. Employers Cannot Ask Of Criminal Prosections

HARTFORD, CT – Yesterday,  80 year old Senator Ed Gomes (D-Bridgeport) brought a bill to the floor of the Senate that aims to create fair chance employment. House Bill 5237, An Act Concerning Fair Chance Employment, is a set of hiring policies for private employers, designed to ensure that applicants with criminal records are evaluated on the merits of their qualifications, not on their criminal records. The bill received approval in the Senate and now moves to the desk of Governor Dannel P.
