UPDATE: Possible suspect detained on Maplewood Avenue. 11:29am--#Fairfield CT--#Bridgeport CT--Fairfield had two shoplifters leave Stop and Shop on Villa Avenue. They took off in a stolen van, a short pursuit ensued but broken off by Fairfield Police when they crossed the town line. Bridgeport and Fairfield have located the van abandoned in the 1400 block of Park Avenue. Police are looking for a white female with blond hair wearing a white tank top and Hispanic male with a black doo rag , he also has a tear drop tattoo under his left eye. UPDATE: Witnesses at Yale New Haven Hospital said a man named Alberto was brought in to the emergency room (his name was mentioned many times) and was shot in the face. He allegedly stabbed the person who shot him in the face. 9:50pm--#cttraffic--#Milford CT--There was a shooting and stabbing that occurred on I-95 exit ramp at exit 41 (traffic cameras are turned off). According to radio reports a person got off exit 41 and started shooting at a gray car on the highway. The shooter is a white male in a white t-shirt. 9:02pm--#Bridgeport CT--At least 3 people were transported to the hospital with non -life threatening injuries after a rollover crash. Witnesses tell me the gray SUV had the green light and that the driver had just dropped off their child prior to the crash. Firefighters were called but not needed as everyone was able to get out of the vehicles on their own. There are city closed circuit cameras at the intersection which I'm sure will be used in the investigation.
#Fairfield CT--A bear has been running through Fairfield neighborhoods since 10am Thursday morning. The bear is seen running on Country Road around 11:30am. The sightings increased in the Judd Road area around 2pm. The bear kept police busy throughout the area. He then climbed a tree off Windsor Road and stayed there until DEEP arrived with a tranquilizer gun. The bear stayed up in the tree for about ten minutes before falling out. The bear was fine, the branches broke his fall and landed on a bed of brush and leaves. DEEP transported
5:44pm--#Shelton CT--Shelton Police are searching Shelton Road for Kathleen Komlos who was last seen in her backyard on Maple Street Extension around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. She suffers dementia. She has salt and pepper hair, about 5 feet 4 inches. She is wearing blue jeans and save the cats t-shirt.

Shot my first bear today! On video that is, on Country Road (off High Street). The bear has been keeping police and animal control busy today. The are not chasing the bear but keeping tabs on it. They will respond if neighbors call. A specialist from DEEP will be at station 2 shortly to advise.
Today’s 1 p.m. press conference with Mayor Finch and Police Chief Gaudett has been cancelled. There was to be an announcement about public safety initiatives, yesterday's press release said.“Public safety is our top priority in Bridgeport,” said Mayor Finch. “The city is safer than it has been in 40 years, and we’re working to do even better. The future of our kids and grandkids is at stake.” I was hoping to hear about the mounted patrols.
