Distracted Driving High Visibility Enforcement CampaignThe Norwalk Police Department is partnering with the Connecticut Department of Transportation in recognition of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month this April.From April 1 through April 30, officers will conduct targeted enforcement efforts focusing on drivers who violate Connecticut’s hand-held mobile electronic device laws. Connecticut law prohibits the use of any hand-held mobile electronic device while operating a motor vehicle. Drivers ages 16 and 17 are prohibited from using a cell phone or mobile device at any time, even with a hands-free accessory.Violations of Connecticut’s distracted driving laws carry significant penalties. Fairfield Police Arrest Man in Connection with December Overdose Death Fairfield, CT — The Fairfield Police Department has arrested Connor Dushay, 22, of Milford, in connection with a December 2025 overdose death in Fairfield. On 12/27/2025, Fairfield Police responded to a residence on Mill Plain Road for a report of an unresponsive male. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was later pronounced deceased. An investigation conducted by Fairfield Police detectives determined that the death was the result of acute intoxication due to the combined effects of cocaine, fentanyl, and alcohol. Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed evidence that Dushay had supplied narcotics to the victim prior to the overdose and tampered with evidence at the scene.
