(Editorial)  You've seen the commercials, they city of Bridgeport continues to strive to better itself and it has.  I've been running DoingItLocal.com for over 5 years now and crime is WAY down.  Steele Point is going up and new businesses are coming to it and other parts of the city .  Some of the nicest people I know are from Bridgeport.  That's what a city is about, people.  Of course there are bad people and I will continue to report them on the police calls.   But there are way more nice, hard working people than bad.  It is all a mind set.  We need to change that mind set if anything is going to get better.  There were a…

Mayor Finch Announces New Movie Theatre, Cinépolis, Coming to Steelpointe Harbor

Mayor Bill Finch announced that Cinépolis USA, a luxury cinema complex, will build a 50,000 square foot cinema at Bridgeport’s Steelpointe Harbor, projected to open in 2017. He was joined by former Bridgeport Mayor’s Leonard Paoletta, Tom Bucci, and John Fabrizi, as well as several other elected officials, community and business leaders, and trade union representatives.   "This is great news, serving as further proof that Bridgeport is getting better every day," said Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch. Bridgeport News: Car NOT Shot At As First Thought

5:52pm--#cttraffic--#Bridgeport CT--State Police are out with a car on Fairfield Avenue near Joseph's Steakhouse that says she was shot at while on the highway.  State Police told me it was just road debris not a gunshot as first thought by the driver.  You can see in the picture the window is smashed but no entry or exit hole in the window.  The woman was shaken up and EMS was called to check her out.
