4ish--#Monroe CT--Fire tore through the second floor of a home at 80 Settlers Farm Rd on Monday afternoon, but fortunately no one was injured. Monroe, Stepney, and Stevenson firefighters were called to the nearly 3,000 square foot colonial-style home in the Whitney Farms section of Monroe shortly after 4pm. Chief William Davin was first on scene, reporting heavy flames from the second floor of the house and a partial roof collapse. Approximately 45 volunteer firefighters, including a crew from White Hills in Shelton, manning 7 engines, a ladder truck, and a rescue truck operated on scene and had the fire controlled within 25 minutes of arrival.
