Everyday Connecticut State Troopers encounter children in need. Many of these children would not wake up Christmas morning with a smile if it were not for the generosity of the people of Connecticut. On Saturday, December 13, 2014 between 10a.m. and 5 p.m. off duty Connecticut State Troopers from Troop G will personally be on hand to collect new unwrapped toys at Walmart located at 150 Barnum Aveune Cutoff Stratford, Connecticut. The new (unwrapped) toys all will be distributed to local Social Services agencies.

Bridgeport News: Man Robbed Then Shot

#Bridgeport CT--Just before 11:30pm two shots rang out and a man screamed according to witnesses.  A man was robbed and shot in front of 1355 Reservoir Avenue, his cell phone was taken in the robbery.  The suspect sped away in a small silver car.  The victim was shot in the lower extremities according to radio reports.  Expect Reservoir Avenue to be closed near Soundview Avenue as police process the crime scene.

The employees stated that two suspects entered Los Primos, at 64 Roosevelt St.,  just before 1 p.m., brandished a weapon and demanded money. The suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash. 12:12pm---#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were on scene at 1920 Madison Avenue where it was thought to be a basement fire.  The basement was filled with smoke.  Firefighters ran a hose to the basement but found it was a malfunctioning furnace, no fire. 1:42am--#Bridgeport CT--A back porch fire extended into the home of 681 Thorme Street.  Firefighters quick response time kept the fire from becoming a much larger fire. First and second searches found no one inside the home.  Smoke could be seen coming from the attic vents and smoke filled the home.  The fire marshal will investigate the cause of the fire. #Trumbull Child Reunited With Mom After Search

6:18pm--#Bridgeport CT #Trumbull CT-- A father took off on foot with a child in his arms who was not suppose to  and fled on foot to Bridgeport in the Clifton Place Dayton Road area.   It was a Trumbull 10-9 but I don't have Trumbull's 10 codes. Bridgeport Police assisted Trumbull Police in searching the area along with K-9 in the Sylvan Avenue area including searching inside Food Bazaar and Home Depot.  No one matching the description was seen or found in either store.  Around 8:20pm the man called a family member and returned the child in Trumbull.
