Video Report: 12:02pm--#Bridgeport CT--Luis Castuc of Bridgeport literally found himself stuck in a creek without a paddle but with a pitchfork. Luis was looking for sandworms like he has for the last 55 years. Luis uses them to fish with. He never tried this location before and when he did he found himself stuck in the mud about knee deep. He had his cellphone on him and called 911. He was stuck in the mud for about an hour before firefighters were able to free him. Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Martin told us they used the standard trench rescue to free the man. "If anything it was good practice" Martin told me. 12:22am--#Fairfield CT--Firefighters were called to 219 Roseville Terrace for a basement fire. The two roommates of the home quickly evacuated and let firefighters know everyone was out of the house and there was visible flames seen in the basement. Firefighters were quick on the scene and had the fire quickly knocked down. Police did a great job coordinating the traffic on the narrow street. #Bridgeport, CT -- Nov. 30, 2014 -- Police arrested a 41-year-old man who last night stabbed a woman a day after she ended a relationship with him. Police found Jose Velez still inside 50 Pearl Harbor Circle, the apartment in which the attack occurred, and arrested him. Police also found the victim, Francis Santos, 39, who suffered stab wounds to her neck and back. Santos, who is pregnant, was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where she was in serious condition. According to Capt. Armando Perez, Santos was home with her 8-year-old son when she heard someone breaking into the home. She fled but Velez attacked her, stabbing her at least twice.
