We all knew this last night, but here is the official police press release: Bridgeport, Connecticut (July 17, 2014) – Last night, at 2056 hours, Joseph Myers (DOB: 9/8/75) was shot and killed on Jefferson Street alongside Newfield Park. He was found lying across the driver’s seat of his car and appeared to have been shot one time. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been in that area for several hours prior to his death. At this time we do not have a motive for the homicide. Anyone with information should contact Detective Curet at 203-581-5236. Bridgeport News: Police Investigating City’s 5th Homicide

CAUTION--Some people may find this video graphic/disturbing: 8:55pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday night in the city's East End. Police were dispatched to Jefferson Street between Newfield and Seaview Avenues on a report of gunfire and a possible shooting victim. Police found the victim unresponsive inside a vehicle on Jefferson Street suffering from a gunshot wound. Detectives responded to the scene and currently are processing the crime scene for evidence. The investigation remains in its early stages.
