Man fatally shot

Bridgeport Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at Bridgeport Hospital Saturday evening. The victim subsequently succumbed to his wounds. He has been identified as a 29-year-old man from Shelton. The investigation is in its early stages and is believed to have occurred in the area of East Main and Spring streets. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.

Fire in Bridgeport

9:55pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters quickly knocked down a fire in an abandoned  house  in 170ish block of Hanover Street.  The house is actually behind a house on Hanover Street.  Witnesses said it was abandoned and they upset nothing has been done with the building and landlord.

Bridgeport City Hours/Trash Pickup on Monday, Veterans Day

BRIDGEPORT, CT (November 8, 2013) – In observance of Veterans Day, City Hall and Margaret E. Morton Government Center will be closed on Monday, November 11, and will reopen on Tuesday, November 12.   The City’s Transfer Station is open on Monday from 7 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (closed for lunch fromNoon - 12:45 p.m.).  Trash and recycling pickups will continue as scheduled on Monday.
